This October, I'll be taking on Sense's Run For challenge to raise money for people with complex disabilities and their families.

I’ll be running for Remi, an amazing child who’s supported by Sense.

She’s five years old and getting more confident every day.

Saturday 22nd Oct
Sense is a really important charity to me. I started working at sense in April of 2022, where I first met Ruby. Ruby is 18 and has cerebral palsy and autism.

 Ruby has a hilarious sense of humour! We get up to so many fun activities, including things such as clothes shopping, the cinema, bowling, pumpkin picking, Cadbury’s world, swimming and much more😊.

 Sense allows Ruby the ability to experience more in the community independently, where we build on skills such as money management, decision making, improved travel skills, increased social interactions and other important achievements.

I can’t wait to see what me and Ruby get up to over the next year, and donations to Sense will help young people like Ruby experience more exciting things whilst developing independence with support from us 😊

First run of October completed, 1.38k ran! A little bit of a mess up with my Fitbit 🙈 but feeling really good! Hope it feels good every day. 😂

Working for Sense

Thursday 29th Sep
My name is Philippa and I work for Sense as a support worker in the Warwickshire area. I work with 5 amazing children who are able to experience so much through Sense, such as sensory play, life skills and social development. We take part in fun activities such as swimming, trampolining, lots of outdoor walks, and  much, much more! 

This is only possible due to the amazing work provided by the charity, Sense. Sense builds brilliant relationships with families and young people, to ensure that no child with any disability is feeling isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. 

By supporting me in my challenge, Sense can support families in giving their children more opportunities to relax and play outside of the home. Every opportunity for connection, stimulation and play is vital for a child’s development. Donations raised over the next month will have a positive and long lasting effect on those we support, which definitely gives me something to run for!
